Sam Mayer ran down leader Ryan Sieg over the final six laps in Saturday's Andy's Frozen Custard 300 for NASCAR Xfinity Series machines, winning the event by 0.002 seconds, the second-closest finish in series history.
The victory was the first for Mayer this season and the fifth of his career, and the triumph also banked the $100,000 Xfinity Dash4Cash bonus for Mayer and the No. 1 Carolina Carports team. The thrilling finish was also the 82nd for JR Motorsports, the first of 2024 and the third at Texas Motor Speedway. Mayer’s Dash4Cash win was the 21st for JRM since the program was first introduced.
