Mayer Scores First Career Pole at Charlotte

Sam Mayer scored his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series pole with a blistering lap of 30.018 seconds around Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday.

Making the feat more remarkable is this was Mayer's first day on the legendary 1.5-mile ribbon of asphalt in Concord, N.C. All his previous starts at Charlotte have been on the ROVAL.
